Is second marriage is allowed in India when first wife is alive and yes under what circumstances?

last 15 year in trobullesIs second marriage is allowed in India when first wife is alive and yes under what circumstances?
second marriage is not allowed anywhere on earth.. if you want to re-marry, divorce your wife first.

How does military life in US airforce affect your marriage?

N/AHow does military life in US airforce affect your marriage?
just depends..long hours, lots of deployments, changing duty stations..its a tough job but it can be done if you love your husband and your marriage.

i think its fun, i've liked moving all over with my husband and am looking forward to more. i say travel young! :)How does military life in US airforce affect your marriage?
TDYs and wartime overseas deployments can be very hard on a spouse.

Not only having to raise the family alone for months at a time, but the worry that something might happen to the love of your life.
I don't know about the air force, but I can tell you the army sure puts a lot of stress on a relationship with a divorce rate of over 70% during the 10 years I was in.

If gay marriage become legal, would you practice abstinence?

I mean, as in, to postpone having sex until marriage. Would you do it?

Or you would just prefer to have sex with just anyone, anytime, with no feelings, and one-night-stands just like the homophobes have accused us?If gay marriage become legal, would you practice abstinence?
In respect to behaviour before, during and after a marriage I suspect gays would do as straights do. We are gay, we are not an alien life form.If gay marriage become legal, would you practice abstinence?
I don't believe in 'no sex until marriage' for gay or straight individuals. It's some people's choice, but it seems to go against the nature of being a human being to me.

';I will ignore my body's natural needs and act our of accordance with what evolution has imprinted in me because a social ritual has not yet been preformed tying me to one person for the rest of our existence.'; is a very bizarre reason to not have sex in my eyes. If you haven't has sex before marriage, then there's a probability you're marrying simply to feed that biological need, not because the other person is someone you could spend the rest of your life with.

Gay marriage is legal where I live, doesn't mean I'm sitting around praying for the one to sweep me off my feet or anything.
I'm not gay but I do support same-sex marriage.

I used to go to conservative churches that teach that abstinence crap, and I learned that the leaders of these churches actually crack jokes about 30 and 40 year-old virgins behind their backs. Now I just send my Christian friends to the site below which debunks the whole thing against premarital sex in the Bible. It covers same-sex lifestyles too. I hope it helps you.
No. I had to keep up the appearance of being straight while I was in the Army. If I didn't sleep with a man or 2 in those days, that would have raised flags on suspicions of me being gay. I didn't want that, so I did what I had to do.

If I could've done things differently, I probably would've remained abstinent.

I am married, BTW. I believe my wife would have practiced abstinence IF she married a man. But she married me, %26amp; I have no problem.

Good question-made me get the gray matter working at 2am!
yes, i will.. and am actually practicing abstinence as much as i can..but sometimes i get so horny i cud just rip someone's shirt off..lol i think not being able to marry makes us look like a bunch of bad sexcraved maniacs for the rest of our lives... when the truth is we're all the same be str8 or gay...
In my opinion, both of the options are too extreme.

I wouldn't practive abstinence but I wouldn't have sex with just anybody either. How about having sex with the person you love?

Good luck.

;-)
I wouldn't practice abstinence (well, too late now anyway lol) because I'm not religious and I don't really have those moral ideas.

But I wouldn't continue just sleeping around.
1. Too late for that for me.

2. Heterosexual people also have one-night stands.

3. ?
whether its legal or not I'm staying abstinate until I'm married
That would be a double standard.
Lol, no... Who actually does that?
i would still have sex with those i felt like having sex with??
are there other options..
honestly, i dont really get your question

Are judges who make the decision to legalize gay marriage, gay themselves?

or just logically incomprehensible? Are judges who make the decision to legalize gay marriage, gay themselves?
Yes, they are homosexuals themselves. If I were the judge, I would not make decision to legalize marriage because it is disgusting to marry people with same genitals. It's a yuck!!!Are judges who make the decision to legalize gay marriage, gay themselves?
Judges carry out the law, they are not able to legalize anything.

Laws are made by the government, not by the judiciary.

To answer the question behind the question, are the lawmakers who legalise gay marriage also gay?

It is possible that some may be, but as gays are less than 10% of the population then most of those lawmakers are going to be straight.
No, they are protecting the rights of everyone. They are being fair and impartial. You cannot discriminate against a group due to religious feelings.Just because the ';majority'; voted for it doesn't make it fair or right. If we went by majority rules there would still be slaves and women wouldn't be able to vote. Sometimes the majority are bigoted and wrong.
It is irrelevant whether or not they are gay. As far as your second question, I'm not sure what you are asking. Are you saying you can't understand them because they interpret the laws in a way that you wouldn't?
Neither!

Just decent open minded human beings!

EDIT: I also agree with the comment below 'judges' do not make decisions on their own personal opinions or feelings!

=)
No, they followed their Job they were supposed to do, throwing out illegal or unconstitutional laws. Stay in school and try a basic civics class.
What an incredibly ignorant statement. I will assume you are quite young and naive, which sadly makes the comment even more tragic.
What is logically incomprehensible is the fact that the issue was even voted on.

I doubt they are gay. They are probably good judges who are able to see through BS and rule fairly while looking out for the rights of American citizens.
nope neither, the judges who legalized it in cali were mostly republican
They are just truly impartial.
Neither!
No more so than you.

  • Why would my husband want to change position's all of a sudden after 20 years of marriage?

I have always been in the same position on my back next to the clock, should I put my foot down? Why would my husband want to change position's all of a sudden after 20 years of marriage?
He got all excited watching you put that new g string on that he wants to liven things up a bit. Go with the flow. Why would my husband want to change position's all of a sudden after 20 years of marriage?
He wants a little variety. There's nothing wrong with that as long as the variety is with you.Do a little doggie or reverse cowgirl.
Maybe he wants a change because he is bored with it and wants variety. Don't be so mean and selfish towards him atleast he's coming home boinking you not Mrs. Sullivan down the street. Geez
Have you put on some weight?.

Maybe he's starting to burn his erse on the light bulb when your at it and he's fed up with burnt buns.
Your husband sounds distinctly lacking in moral fibre to me. Send him over to D.C. I'll show him some rectitude!
maybe if you put your foot down he won't know what to do
yes you should put your foot down if its been working for 20years why change it now
Perhaps someone else has been teaching him new ones.
Maybe hes tried it with someone else and likes it...
There is a spring poking out of his side of the mattress....
    change can be good....
your way to hot for him .
You might enjoy having your butt in the air..give it a try!!

You may want to re-post this in religion.

Do i need to stay with my husband who's cheated me after a 10-yr marriage?

I am married for ten years now and found out that my husband got a child from another woman. We don't have our own. What will i do. Do i need to stay with my husband who's cheated me after a 10-yr marriage?
Are you happy with him? then stay if not you have every right to go. There are much better men in the world than him. You'll find someone who will love you and NOT cheat on you. Just keep smiling :)Do i need to stay with my husband who's cheated me after a 10-yr marriage?
Many people can look beyond a cheating spouse, but when they bring a child into the world from their actions, they have crossed a fine line. You don't have to stay in the marriage, you do have choices and options, but many women do stay with their husbands after they have cheated and the outcome is a child, it's all about if you can live with this or not? and if you are convinced in your own mind that history wont repeat itself?
This is hard to answer. Is there anyway to save the marriage? You might both go to a marriage counselor. Getting through this will be very tough and take a long time. However, divorce can hurt a lot worse, especially if you think there is the chance he will mend his ways.

But getting a divorce is totally understandable. You don't want to be with someone who does stuff like this to you.

In any case, you are doing the right thing in getting other's advice and thinking about it before you act.
No one can really tell you what to do. I would be out of the marriage before I could even ask this question. Cheating is a deal breaker and you do not have children to complicate things. You deserve to be treated with respect and love not infidelity! It is a difficult decision so do not make without considering your options. Lots of people leave a marriage and manage to have a wonderful life. It is scary and difficult but never settle for less than you deserve!
THAT IS HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't care who it is nobody should go through that. You deserve to be treated better than that. You should get a plan together on how leave him. Get a plan that includes where you are going to live, money and things for yourself. You need to take care of yourself. It's better that you get out now while you don't have any children. There is somebody out there who will treat you like the queen that you are. every women should be treated that way plus when you find your king you should treat him as good as he treat you.
I would say it depends on how he treats you generally (apart from what he has done I mean). You do not state what sort of a husband he is, whether he has been a brilliant and good hubby, or whether he has serious faults anyway...nor whether you `loved him dearly` before you discovered his secret.

I mean, if he has been a brilliant husband in all other ways...why ditch a good man? You must know him by now, after 10 years!
Does he want to be forgiven? How long was this going on? Why did he cheat? Just a fling or a lengthy affair? This isn't about needs, but about wants. No one is perfectly happy all the time in a marriage and people make mistakes, so people can be forgiven small indiscretions and with a lot of work they can fix their marriage. He wanted something immoral and has hurt you deeply. But you have to decide how much you think he's been deceiving you. Then ask yourself, do you want him and can you try to forgive him?

Nope.... kick his sorry *** out because once a cheater always a cheater and he is bound to do it again...he was willing to throw away a 10 yr marraige and did not take your feelings into consideration... ((((what an asshole)))) he is

Did he stop to think how it would make you feel when you found out...No he didn't or he would not have done what he did...he's selfish and self centered...

Its simple if you love him stay with him and try your best to replace the thought of him cheating with a new special memory of just you and him a new trip or a new place to live. If you have fallen out of love with him then you should end it. good luck.
    Only you can answer this.

If you love him, and truly think he is sorry, then go to therapy and try to forgive and forget.

But if you cannot, then get a divorce. Some people simply cannot overcome this kind of betrayal. Good luck.
That's terrible. You should leave him, that's the lowest of lows!! You can find someone much better, that is just too much deception.
No you don't need to stay with him and I wouldn't if I were you. That's pretty screwed up what he has done. I would divorce him immediately.
    Kick him to the cirb......

You dont deserve to be with some one that is willin to go behind your back!
Get rid of that loser. ( sorry if that is harsh.)
    You deserve better..good luck
you come on the internet a let a bunch of strangers decide for you!

  • Are there any logical reasons to being against gay marriage?

I just don't understand why people think it's so harmful. I don't see how it's any more harmful than straight marriage. Are there any logical reasons to being against gay marriage?
no. some people are just determined to keep others down as a way of making themselves feel worthy. Are there any logical reasons to being against gay marriage?
Well someone elses example of a logical reason may not be your example of a logical reason. It may be logical for them to say gays are icky so I don't want them married. Or it may be logical to say the bible says this is bad (even tho the bible says lots of things are bad, that i clearly do) so I'm going to say no.
There are several reasons, and religion isn't the only one. The government has absolutely no right to redefine marriage.

    Leviticus 18:22-23:

    ';You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination. Also you shall not have intercourse with any animal to be defiled with it, nor shall any woman stand before an animal to mate with it; it is a perversion.';

We believe that the family is the bedrock and backbone of our society. Therefore, the fund邪mental institution which creates the family, marriage, should be protected.

Further, we recognize that marriage as an institution serves a larger purpose than a demonstration of love and commitment between two adults.

We recognize that the State has an interest in protecting the institution of marriage because it is vital to protecting the institution of the family and the family is the bedrock of our society.

We acknowledge that marriage, while a demonstration of love and commitment, also serves for the betterment, growth and continuation of our society because married couples will produce the next generation of Americans.

While not every married couple will produce offspring, no homosexual couple has the physical capacity to do so. This leads us to conclude that a homosexual marriage does nothing for the betterment, growth or continuation of society.

Marriage is in fact a legal contract between not only two parties, the bride and groom, but also the State. The State is a party in a marriage contract because it is the State which sanctions such marriage.

Homosexual marriage does not provide for the next generation of Americans and thus the continuation of our nation. Therefore there is no purpose for the State to sanction such union.

People should start putting the interests of the nation before their own personal agenda. Traditional marriage, generally speaking, provides our nation with the next generation of doctors and teachers and soldiers and scientists. Marriage in this regard is a service to society.

Homosexual marriage serves only the personal agenda of the two homosexual entities which plan to marry. Such homosexual union will not produce offspring. Such union would only clear the streets of rainbow flag parades pleading for ';equal marriage rights'; It is therefore a selfish act.

We recognize, lastly, that homosexuals already have equal marriage rights. Any homosexual man or woman can obtain a state license to marry by following the exact same process everyone else must. There are no questions of sexual orientation on the application for a marriage license.

Due to this as well as other reasons deeply believed by our members, we oppose the legalization of same-sex marriages.
Ha i asked this question to a relative and her answer was ';well think about what they will be doing the night of their wedding...we can't let that happen.'; i had to laugh at her stupidity and thank god that i'm not blood related to her!
    no, there is not.

People like to use the whole ';marrige is an act of god, and god says homosexuality is wrong'; but there are civil celebrants who can do the entire ceremony without mentioning god once!
    No. Just biased religious propaganda.
    no logical ones no
I don't know the logical arguments because i am actually FOR it. To each is own, really.
'cause it takes all the hot guys and girls away from the straight kids?
    ewwwwww.... that's gross!!!!!!

I do hope you know i'm being sarcastic here..... *gives you cookies*

    the answer is no.
    Not one.
some one went on a thumbs down spree.

    no their isn't one.
    uhm

    hell no!
Basically its denying a religions rights to set there own standards.

Soon they'll want people who want to marry animals to get married then relatives then NAMBLA

I mean think about it, if its all about equality and not special attention.

Every individual can get married. No one is being denied the right to marry.

Are there actually ppl following me thumbing me down lol wow

Right religious freedom so if Gays want to create a new religion and think of another name for marriage thats totally legal. But you cant change someone else just to benefit yourself

Thats the thing tho they arent.

Everyone has equal rights to get married. If you ask the courts ';Can I get married'; they will say yes. Every individual person can get married. Thats a right.

I do get it they can get married. Like I said every INDIVIDUAL can get married. Yes you can get married too

Why is marriage so sought after?

I've been with my boyfriend for years now and both of us are quite happy in our routine lives. Everyone asks, when are you getting married? Why is that the assumed next step? Is there anyone else happy without the unneeded piece of paper from the government? Even if children were in the picture, I don't see why, in a loving relationship with trust and comfort and happiness, we need to worry about a pointless ceremony just for tradition. Why is marriage so sought after?
My man and I agree with you. We don't need the paper either. What is rather annoying is all the questions because we aren't married. We no longer answer other than a semi-polite, ';we'll let you know if it happens';.Why is marriage so sought after?
Few reasons I can think of:

-Legal protection in case financial assets are being shared (which happens in long term relationships)

-Legal protection and emotional connection for kids; kids are comparing everything they see around the world with what they have at home. Do their friends have married parents or single parents?

-Religious reasons (depending on the couple)

If it is just a pointless tradition, then what is the harm in going through with it?
Yes, definitely I agree. Getting married does not change peoples character into a positive way, neither makes problems suddenly disappear… if the relationship was rotten before marriage, after marriage it will be just the same … If a relationship is fine and people are happy together they do not sign any paper to show the world how happy they are together. I always regarded marriage as something “useless”, as whether married or not, if the couple does not go on well together, there will be no future.

Marriage is no guarantee for happiness and no guarantee that your partner will never leave you.

What´s important for children is to see their mom %26amp; dad happy together; a family does not mean that there is a paper signed which is interpreted as a kind of obligation.

Sure, we sometimes get married because we want to make our families happy and it is what they expect and nag on you always they see you… spend a lot of money to see everybody eating and drinking for free.

I got married as well and nothing changed between us – Fortunately!!!

But if I were in the same situation again I would buy a flight to Las Vegas and get married there, so we would have fun and enjoy our day.

As on my wedding everybody enjoyed much more than us, running around to make everything perfect and spending such a lot of money on people we never seen again since then…

The piece of paper from the government doesn't matter, what is beautiful about marriage is that it is comforting that someone is making an everlasting promise of commitment to you, to always love you unconditionally. Marriage is a symbol of love. Don't look down on marriage as just an unneeded piece of paper.
Marriage will strengthen a relationship by making the committment in front of the state, friends, family and peers. Without marriage a lng term committed relationship is on shaky ground, and when hard times hit, there may not be enough social support and foundation to see it through.

I totally know how you feel. I don't understand the whole thing either. Not only that like 60% of people that get married end up divorced anyway so its pointless now days. You have to be really ready and make SURE that's what you want!! People don't get that and some people look down on people that have been dating for some time and never get married. I don't ever plan of getting married!! Good luck to you and your BOYFRIEND!! Lol!!
marriage is more than a piece of paper, it is vowing your love or another person for the rest of your life(or suppose to be). it is more meaningful than just dating, but the important thing is that you both are happy together, marriage is just more final. more committedd.
i agree. but if you don't have a will it could cause problem if something happened to on of you. also if you do ever break up it can be harder to sort out the legal stuff. the paper just protects both of you in these cases.
i see where your coming from. just tell them that then when they ask y'all questions like that. its just if two people are together for a while and people see y'all all happy that's the first thing that comes to there mind.
Thats the expectation of the world. I say if you guys are happy the way you are then stay that way. Marriage is a big step

Some people do it because of their religious backgrounds. Others think it's more for stability. There are so many other reasons why it's done. But I can understand what your saying.
it is socially correct to be married
that's just a mind set most people have that.

Who do homosexuals want to redefine the institution of marriage when civil unions provide the same rights?

Because they think it will give them respect (rather than have it earned) and it will be another blow at America's Judeo-Christian values.Who do homosexuals want to redefine the institution of marriage when civil unions provide the same rights?
In the days of Jim Crow, in the old South, it was called ';Separate But Equal';, but it was learned later on it wasn't equal. In the same way it's not the same, for example, most companies will not honor spousal benefits if it is called civil union. It must be married, so for many legal reasons gay couples have found out it does not grant the same rights married people have. Our constitution guarantees all of us equal protection under the law . .Gay people simply want to have the same rights afforded.to others.Who do homosexuals want to redefine the institution of marriage when civil unions provide the same rights?
This has been addressed extensively. Lots of thought has been put into answering this question. Stop trying to minimize it. Go read some blog entries and essays if you REALLY care why we want our marriage rights to be legalized.

These are real humans you're toying with.

Edit: As for the ';gay free speech police,'; we're planning to eat your children too.
Civil unions don't provide the same rights. Visitation by family members in hospitals is one I know off the top of my head. Also if they travel outside the US, civil unions won't be recognized by another govt if something happens.
From what I'm hearing, Civil Unions don't provide any where near the same rights, especially when children are involved.

What part of the constitution describes marriage? I must have missed that.
no idea. Thanks for the points.

I don't feel strongly either way.

I just do not want any lawsuits for gay rights in the workplace.

Or minority rights, for that matter..
Because civil unions do NOT have the exact same rights.

Gays won't settle for second class.

Besides, wouldn't you rather be married or be in a civil union?
Dear Genius, Civil Unions do not provide the same rights. Do your homework.
    Romance instead of reality.
Not clear on that issue. Wanting acceptance may be the reason, but civil unions do that as well I think.
They don't provide the same rights. You ask this like 3 times a day.

Has your marriage faced pressure from friends or family to break up.?

I have not had to deal with this... but several friends have.

I am just curious how many people out there are in a relationship that someone else protests constantly, how doe that effect you and your relationship.

has this pressure ever worked? and broken you up?Has your marriage faced pressure from friends or family to break up.?
my sister %26amp; brother cant stand my man but that doesnt matter to me a little bit. I didnt like my bro ex wife and he knew it . but my sister would constantly tell me to dump him and go back to dating the guy who worked at the bank and drove a nice car.

it didnt work i just try to avoid letting them in the same room =)Has your marriage faced pressure from friends or family to break up.?
Definitely yes. And I wish I listened years earlier.

But it was the pressure from her that squeezed me out of the relationship.
If any of my friends behaved that way, they would quickly become my ex-friends.

And lucky for me my family both has sense and also likes my wife.
Yes but we dont care we are happy and just because others dont like us together is just tooooo bad for them. They need to worry about their own life.

Really now...you care about this why/I'm puzzled by the Clintons-how does their marriage actually work-in the bedroom?
Why are you puzzled by this, but not the numerous others who have had affairs on their wives: John Ensign, Mark Sanford, Larry Craig, David Vitter, Ted Haggard, John Edwards, Mark Foley, etc? They either try to work it out or they divorce. Clearly, these two have tried to work it out.I'm puzzled by the Clintons-how does their marriage actually work-in the bedroom?
It's just a matter of consenting adults having the right to do with their lives whatever they want to. 鈭犅?
Good Lord! You made all of us picture that. For that you should be punished.
    That sounds personal.

What do you need to do to have civil marriage in the Philippines?

    the long way:

**Bring with you..yours %26amp; your gf's NSO-copy birth certificates and residence certificates (cedula) to your Local Civil Registrar. File for Marriage License. Fill up a form, pay whatever you need to pay. You can only get the Marriage License (which would be released 10 days after), after you have attended a one day seminar offered by the same office. Your Marriage License is your passport so when you finally have it, schedule, pay for the wedding rites -- the solemnizing officer could be your mayor or a judge.

    Short cut:

I agree with the other reply before this...Find somebody who can ';HELP'; you, but be ready to shell out more. Quezon City area? I can give you an address so, you won't have to give anything to that ';somebody to help you';..You can go directly to the judge. He was our solemnizing officer. His staff took care of the authentic marriage license. We were just saved in attending the seminar (which I now realize as important) and the 10day waiting period. But the ceremony is complete. We paid for everything and after 6months I was able to get an NSO copy of our marriage certificate.=)

**Remember to bring a camera (that's needed) and wear formal clothes for the picture...What do you need to do to have civil marriage in the Philippines?
You will need your passport and cetificate in lieu of legal capacity to marry from the EMbassy in Manila or the Cebu Consulate.

She will need her birth certicate, baranguay clearance and CENOMAR certificalte from NSO. ( Certificate of No Marriage).

Licence costs P2500 and you must be in the Philippines for 10 days to make it legal.

Don't think that getting married here automatically gives your new wife citizenship and she can hop on the next plane and go back stateside with you. It does not work that was. There is a ton of paperwork and requirements for her spousal visa and costs of at least $1,500 involved and it takes 9-12 months to process. Thats after you finally get the Marrige Licence from the NSO.

Maybe the K-3 (fiance visa) would be a better route for you ?What do you need to do to have civil marriage in the Philippines?
The list is pretty long and complicated if you don't have help. OR...If you can find the right solemnizing officer, about 300 bucks should take care of it all. I know a guy in Caloocan City can hook you up. Email me and I'll give you his contact info.
As long as both of you are already at a legal age, you just find a judge and pay a certain minimal amount and that's it.
First, you need to get someone to agree to marry you. After that, let her do all the legwork.

Yes brother!!! Gay marriage killed the dinosaurs 5500 years ago!!

Twelve reasons gay marriage is wrong:

    1) Being gay is not natural. Real Americans always reject unnatural things like eyeglasses, polyester, and air conditioning. Also apparently those homosexual animals have picked up some unnatural behavior.

    2) Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.

    3) Gay marriage will change the foundation of society; we could never adapt to new social norms. Just like we haven't adapted to cars, the service-sector economy, or longer life spans.

    4) Straight marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all; women are still property, blacks still can't marry whites, and divorce is still illegal.

    5) Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage were allowed; the sanctity of Britney Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage would be destroyed.

    6) Straight marriages are valid because they produce children. Gay couples, infertile couples, and old people shouldn't be allowed to marry because our orphanages aren't full yet, and the world needs more children.

    7) Obviously gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children.

    8) Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That's why we have only one religion in America.

    9) Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home. That's why we as a society expressly forbid single parents to raise children.

    10) Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract.

    11) Gay marriage should be decided by the people, not the courts, because the majority-elected legislatures, not courts, have historically protected the rights of minorities.

    12) Civil Unions, providing most of the same benefits as marriage with a different name are better, because a ';separate but equal'; institution is always constitutional. Separate schools for African-Americans worked just as well as separate marriages for gays and lesbians will.
If you are not homosexual I don't think you have any authority to speak of what it 'is.' Even if you were a homosexual and claimed you 'chose' it there would be millions, probably 99.9% of us who would disagree with you.

If you are saying homosexuality is a choice for YOU then you are bisexual. I know I cannot choose to be attracted to the opposite sex, I never have been, and I am only attracted to women. I think I know a bit more about this than you.
I think people are born gay. But I think being gay isn't natural, I think something in their brain went wrong. Why would a straight person want to be gay? Normal people have attractions to the opposite gender, and like it that way.

I don't think gay people should get married, thats like saying it's ok for a person to get married to an animal because they have romantic feelings for animals, which is not natural
So when did you choose to be attracted to the opposite? How did you come about this decision?

People are born that way, like it or not. There has been many scientific studies that point to that. The only choice homosexuals have is to be themselves or to suppress their feelings to live up to some outdated societal ';standard';.
    I certainly hope so.

And if you believe that homosexuals have control over their sexuality, please provide information to back up this belief. Do you know any openly homosexual people? Have you asked them why they are homosexual? Have any of them confirmed that they could change if they tried?
Well, sunshine, homosexuality is no more a 'lifestyle choice' than heterosexuality is. On the other hand, your ignorance of the subject IS a lifestyle choice, a correctable one.
Yeah, heaven forbid anyone should teach your children science and facts. Then you'd have to find something in the Bible to refute that vicious pack of truth.
drop the ball.. well if we did that we wouldnt be the only ones dropping the ball would we ...rofl....

no but seriously, maybe one day!
    No.
too bad they cant outlaw idiots

So you are saying that you can just wake up tommorrow and decide you like men. Thats your argument?

Go back to your bible and leave the thinking to the big boys and girls
wow, you give the us a bad name.
i hope not...thats the only thing the world doesn't need

If hetero-supremacists backed a bill to ban gay marriage, why not ban divorce?

It is the only non hypocritical thing to do, isn't it?If hetero-supremacists backed a bill to ban gay marriage, why not ban divorce?
apples %26amp; oranges -- there is no federal ';right'; to marry and only 2 states have that right. Every state allows divorce and there are times when divorce is needed. If hetero-supremacists backed a bill to ban gay marriage, why not ban divorce?
Rob who said the questioner was from America? Stop being so narrow minded and get a life. People from other countries get on here too you know. As far as I can tell, the question is aimed generally at conservative idiots.

They won't ban divorce because it allows them to partner swap in a way they can feel righteous about, while denying others the same right.
Wow, I don't call you names w/o knowing you.

Why would you want to be married except for the financial benefits? I'm sorry I don't understand the need to marry if there are no children to be conceived %26amp; you can get and/or give legal rights w/o doing so. It's a commitment before God. Since He says it's wrong then marriage before Him would be like a slap in the face.

It'd be nice to outlaw divorce for a lot of people. But what about those being beaten or in some other way severely mistreated? Should there be no other option? I don't even understand how you can consider banning both being equal.

I have nothing against you personally having a relationship with someone of the same sex. I have quite a few gay friends. What you do is between you %26amp; God. But if I condone what I believe to be a sin I'm just as guilty of committing it. That's why I don't agree with gay marriages. I also don't believe in divorce. But both can be forgiven.

I personally believe that government should do away with marriage and just recognize civil unions.

I just don't get why marriage can't just simply have multiple definitions. There can be civil, gay, straight, spiritual, etc... WTF is the big deal?

My sister is gay. She deserves the right to be married and MISERABLE. She can ruin a perfectly good single life if she wants to.

I live in California. Just imagine the boost to the state's economy if (and when) we allow gay marriage. We'd be a even bigger tourist destination. Again....WTF IS THE BIG DEAL?

To ban divorce would be the same as torture

    ?

And to make two still live together would fill the hospital emergency rooms to capacity

    ?

And to keep mom and dad together would be teaching the kids how to be a real jerk to your father and or mother

    When they got married

    ?

If they were stupid enough to do so

    ?
Forgive me for giving a serious answer to a non-serious ';question,'; but...

There is one thing that has done a hideous amount of damage to our society, and that is the No-Fault Divorce.

I'd be all for not just banning it, but driving a stake through it's heart.
Why? Jesus was against divorce, but allowed it in certain circumstances. Anyone else notice that Jesus never said anything about homosexual relationships?
    while they are at it

they should ban sex out of marriage

    and maybe ban single parents

or ban people who cant concieve from getting married
Gay marriage is an oxy moron
    Because they enjoy their divorces.
That would be step 2 or 3 in their plans.

And yes, they have plans. Scary Theocratic ones.
    The century is young!
huh? God says marriage is between a man and a woman. It is his creation.

Mat 19:4 And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,

Mat 19:5 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?

Mat 19:6 Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

Also, this is a democracy. The will of the people is that marriage is between a man and a woman. If you are not ignorant of the history of the US you will know that divorce was until recently very hard to get. I would not mind going back to that way of doing things.

Documents/sacred texts which explain the teaching about what marriage is?

Does anyone know the answer to this question in relation to a catholic Marriage AND a Judaism Marriage?Documents/sacred texts which explain the teaching about what marriage is?
The Catechism of the Catholic Church is a good place to start for Catholic marriage.

These are searches for marriage under different names:

    Marriage:

    ';Married';

As for Jewish marriage, maybe in a Talmud?

if you don't like Wikipedia as a source, look at its sources and go from there.Documents/sacred texts which explain the teaching about what marriage is?
Its in the Gospels. What God makes one flesh man cannot separate. This is why the Catholic Church does not allow divorce but only due to special circumstances as in infidelity, etc...

The Jewish religion does allow divorce because in the Old Testament, it says that God didn't really want it that way but through the hardness of mans hearts, Moses allowed it.
    Kama Sutra.

Try and find the pop-up version :)

Why are so many people still against interracial dating/marriage?

20% of Americans are still against it. Why are so many people still against interracial dating/marriage?
How did you know it is 20%?

Just wonder how you know? Why are so many people still against interracial dating/marriage?
I don't know, maybe it's because they are not around people like that or they grew up thinking that. 20% sounds like a little bit but 20% of 300,million americans is 60 million and that is still a lot of people.

I'm not against it at all, I think that interracial dating/marriage is a beautiful thing as if any marriage is.
I guess most people are against it because a lot of people still follow the old ways for example black people = slave, that is after all what a lot of people thought. It is only recently has it changed for black and white to live among each other as equals. Now to be perfectly honest and no this is not me being racist. But it seems to me that the media mainly show that ';gangs'; etc terrorizing everything they can always seem to be black people now don't they ?. If a women looks on t.v and see's that she is obviously going to take the stereotypical view of '; Oh dear. I don't want to get involved in anything like that';. Now here is some information for you. I personally don't care what colour anyone is, whether there black/ white or even purple for gods sake. There still a person, what I don't agree with is biased laws favouring certain people for example and as i said before I'm not being racist just pointing this out. Did you know that a white person can get into trouble and blamed for racism for calling someone ****** ? such a simple word that is used so much. And yet if someone calls a white person a ';cracker'; its mild prejudice. This would be another reason on why people would be against interracial marriage. When things slowly become unbalanced for either race it slowly causes hate.
my mom is black and my dad is Mexican so i know first hand about this stuff. oh yeah, and my boyfriend is white. okay, people still stare at my parents, but they ignore it, which i love about them!

    As for me and my boyfriend, black guys stare at me like ';is he really better than us black guys?'; and white girls look at my boyfriend kinda like ';I'm so bad you had to go for a black/mexican girl?';

it's still strange for me but me and my boyfriend are not ashamed one bit. We hold hands in public but don't flaunt it. We are totally comfortable with who we are and I think our relationship is just a little proof of that. I don't NEED to be with a black guy or a mexican guy.

    Hope that helps?
love has no boundaries, no color or whatever people say. Though for some couples, date whoever you want, I have no problem with it.

    ';Hey, I'm not racist because I am marrying/dating a minority.';
Americans struggle with ethnic Identity because we are such a mixed society. So what happens is we are drawn to our ethnic roots, It gives us a Natural sense of belonging. Then instints to conserve our genetic DNA becomes important.
20% is not a big deal, that means 80% approves it. Do you think ALL Americans will approve on ONE thing ? not likely. I think you should be satisfied with those numbers, if not get over it.
Because they are stupid as hell. People need to learn to get over it. It still gonna happen the more they hate the more interracial couples will be together.
I still get looked at funny for being married to my husband who is Hispanic.

It's because these people can't let go of their old fashioned, nonsensical prejudices.
I have no idea. It's not their business who other people date. If it doesn't affect them in any way then they should stay out of other people's lives.
20% is a minority in my mind i willing to bet at any time there are 20% against just about any topic you could bring up
My opinion is that prejudice is really ignorance in disguise!

We are all God's children not matter the color of our skin.
there are so many racists, they can't see past ';looks'; so they give attitude and object
because evidently, the only people who are ever home to accept telephone polls are dumb hicks.
    one word -- stupid!!!
