How do you feel about women facing deportation because their husband died before their two years of marriage?

Shouldn't they have applied for a green card as backup instead of solely relying on someone's life or marriage to get citizenship? How do you feel about women facing deportation because their husband died before their two years of marriage?
I support deporting everyone who is not a legal citizen. How do you feel about women facing deportation because their husband died before their two years of marriage?
harsh.

If that is the law then I guess that is the way it is. If we changed laws depending on how people felt about it then pretty soon we would have no laws because someone felt it was not fair or just. And if exceptions keep being made for people then where do we stop? There would be an exception for this and then that and then something else. And again, soon we would have no laws or regulations.
It is not her fault that he died! There was a case a few years ago of a family here on H1-B visa, the mother was killed on Sept 11th (she had the H1-B visa) and the father and two sons were facing being deported after 90 days as he was on a H-4 visa (Not able to work on that visa). With all the press and TV coverage a lawyer stepped up and helped this family from being deported.

Imagine losing your partner and then being kicked out of the states, losing your home your life, even though you are here legally.

How sad that someone comes here LEGALLY and gets thrown out for this
Like they deport anybody.
If she came illegally...I would call it karma!
I'd rather see them deport gang members but I'm sure widows make easier targets.
Is that the rules? Well so be it we really do need to start following the rules for immigration. I'm sure they knew this when they applied to come over here and when they got married.
That dosen't happen very often most of the time they are mistreated and can't complain or they'll loose their case. sad really

Like I heard a women was getting deported cuz her husband died in Iraq. They stop deportation when they found out that her husband died in Iraq and the media screamed bloody murder.

Thats some Bad Juju
I am from England and now married to a US citizen. The process is designed to stop people from marrying for the wrong reasons. After following the processes and requirements for two years, you are initially issued a Permanent Residency Card which is the 'Green card' that everyone talks of. You cannot apply for Citizenship until you have been a Permanent Resident for five years so sadly, there will be times when circumstances prevent this. There have been situations when people have fallen victim to this however my understanding is that soldiers husbands and wives and people effected by 9/11 are exempt from this.

Some very interesting views on immigration here. I am reminded of a true conversation between Chief Sitting Bull and a member of Congress on this very subject. He said 'yes, take care of your immigration laws, we were very careless with ours' Makes you think eh!!
rules are rules
that is ****** up and they shouldnt deport her, especially since her husband died for this azzhole country. Imsorry, I like the U.S. and all, but sometimes they do some ****** up shiit like this. I KNOW Mexico and other countries are no better, but arent we the police of the world? Shouldnt we ';the greatest country in the world,'; be showing the world how its done?
Isnt that the case with the soldier who died in Iraq but his wife is getting deported because of the paperwork?

';I support deporting everyone who is not a legal citizen.'; Even the 33,000 foreign born soldiers who arent citizens but are currently serving in the military? Deport them too Sherylynne?

Country gal a person can't just apply for a green card as a backup they have a conditional status put on their green card and it is based on two years marriage before they can remove the condition and get a full ten year green card. The conditional status is a green card with restrictions. Not sure if you know that or not but I thought I would let you know.

I also think it is extremely unfair to deport someone who is the widow of a soldier that died fighting for this country and our liberty.
