If hetero-supremacists backed a bill to ban gay marriage, why not ban divorce?

It is the only non hypocritical thing to do, isn't it?If hetero-supremacists backed a bill to ban gay marriage, why not ban divorce?
apples %26amp; oranges -- there is no federal ';right'; to marry and only 2 states have that right. Every state allows divorce and there are times when divorce is needed. If hetero-supremacists backed a bill to ban gay marriage, why not ban divorce?
Rob who said the questioner was from America? Stop being so narrow minded and get a life. People from other countries get on here too you know. As far as I can tell, the question is aimed generally at conservative idiots.

They won't ban divorce because it allows them to partner swap in a way they can feel righteous about, while denying others the same right.
Wow, I don't call you names w/o knowing you.

Why would you want to be married except for the financial benefits? I'm sorry I don't understand the need to marry if there are no children to be conceived %26amp; you can get and/or give legal rights w/o doing so. It's a commitment before God. Since He says it's wrong then marriage before Him would be like a slap in the face.

It'd be nice to outlaw divorce for a lot of people. But what about those being beaten or in some other way severely mistreated? Should there be no other option? I don't even understand how you can consider banning both being equal.

I have nothing against you personally having a relationship with someone of the same sex. I have quite a few gay friends. What you do is between you %26amp; God. But if I condone what I believe to be a sin I'm just as guilty of committing it. That's why I don't agree with gay marriages. I also don't believe in divorce. But both can be forgiven.

I personally believe that government should do away with marriage and just recognize civil unions.

I just don't get why marriage can't just simply have multiple definitions. There can be civil, gay, straight, spiritual, etc... WTF is the big deal?

My sister is gay. She deserves the right to be married and MISERABLE. She can ruin a perfectly good single life if she wants to.

I live in California. Just imagine the boost to the state's economy if (and when) we allow gay marriage. We'd be a even bigger tourist destination. Again....WTF IS THE BIG DEAL?

To ban divorce would be the same as torture

?

And to make two still live together would fill the hospital emergency rooms to capacity

?

And to keep mom and dad together would be teaching the kids how to be a real jerk to your father and or mother

When they got married

?

If they were stupid enough to do so

?
Forgive me for giving a serious answer to a non-serious ';question,'; but...

There is one thing that has done a hideous amount of damage to our society, and that is the No-Fault Divorce.

I'd be all for not just banning it, but driving a stake through it's heart.
Why? Jesus was against divorce, but allowed it in certain circumstances. Anyone else notice that Jesus never said anything about homosexual relationships?
while they are at it

they should ban sex out of marriage

and maybe ban single parents

or ban people who cant concieve from getting married
Gay marriage is an oxy moron
Because they enjoy their divorces.
That would be step 2 or 3 in their plans.

And yes, they have plans. Scary Theocratic ones.
The century is young!
huh? God says marriage is between a man and a woman. It is his creation.

Mat 19:4 And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,

Mat 19:5 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?

Mat 19:6 Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

Also, this is a democracy. The will of the people is that marriage is between a man and a woman. If you are not ignorant of the history of the US you will know that divorce was until recently very hard to get. I would not mind going back to that way of doing things.
