Marriage is a public announcement that you and your significant other are embarking on the journey of life together. You are telling everyone close to you that this person is who you want at your side as you face challenges and enjoy this life. I also believe it is the unity of souls, when two become one. It is a celebration of unity.

As far as why people want to marry again and again...well, I for one, want to marry only once. What is marriage ? Why people want to marry again and again ?
Can you imagine a world where sexually active men and women are going to behave just like stray dogs and cats we see on our streets, fornicating at random with great abandon. Thats leaves the poor mama to fend for , yea! more than fend for, the offspring. Seriously, imagine that situation.

As to why people want to marry again and again .....thats simple enough.! No commitment, no real attachments, and no accountability.Surprisingly ,its not only those in the limelight who pursue this option, or moslems who can marry 4 wives..but many societies and people around the globe. .

It just goes to show that there are many out there who just cannot or are afraid of being ';tied down';. These are society's misfits perhaps.
marriage is kind of a hell and people who do it over and over are miserable.
Remarriage is the triumph of hope over experience, according to Dr Johnston, an English wit of the 18th century.
I think people get married for the two incomes, to please their families and to start families.
Marriage is a secure tight bond that two people share. It isn't supposed to be able to break, unfortunately a lot of youngsters get married now, and then it falls through, so it is divorce. Then they think they found the right one again, so they marry again. Most people want to find that one love that you will spend your life with, that person you want to see the world with, and experience everything with, but a lot of times we want it so bad that we don't truly think about what were doing. We just leap into the first thing that claims they love us back. A lot of times were not even fully sure on if we love them. We over look all the things we don't like about the person hoping once we get that ring, and that license then we can just change the things we don't like about the person. Sadly to say but I believe that is one reason we dint have many marriages lasting these days. Marriage is supposed to be a commitment between two people whom love each other unconditionally!
Some people have to be in a relationship at all times or they are not happy.
I'm married and have been married over a year. It's my first and I hope my only marriage. I see marriage as a partnership. It's nice to be able to go through life with someone who not only loves you but cares about, respects you, and who shares common interests. This is the 2nd marriage for my husband and he says that he married too young and as they (he and his ex) got older their interests/beliefs strayed considerably from original on dealbreaker issues such as spending, socializing, hobbies, etc. Her hobbies were socializing and putting on the right face for the occasion. My husband is direct, honest, and has lots of different hobbies. He is not a spender. I married my husband because I love him and he seems to want the same things out of life as I do and we want to do it together. Sharing expenses is a nice benefit but it's not a reason to get married. It wasn't even a consideration. It was an afterthought if at all. I waited until I found the right man. I wasn't in a hurry to get married.
