I agree with Leonard, people are afraid of being alone, so they marry over and over until they get it right. The thinking is that they would rather be in a bad relationship than no relationship at all. After the first marriage, I don't think people marry for love, but more for security and companionship. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.What is marriage ? Why people want to marry again and again ?
hmm i kno y people divorce they just dont want to do what it takes to fix the problems they have but thats not really ur question i do think we've just put marriage kinda up on a pedastal so people think they kinda have to do it others need security and i think some people just dont kno what they want or the other person pressures them into marriage and it just wont work out they clash too much or something
if your question is why do people repeatedly marry and divorce......then i would have to say because they crave that ';butterflys in the stomach'; feeling, they like change, excitement, and are influenced by our ';A.D.D';-type society that has a hard time sticking something out being in it for the long haul. many repeat offenders are unaware or never learned how to fight effectively, as in achieving resolution after a disagreement, so they fall in love/like, rush to the alter, have a fight, rush into a divorce, and do it all over again. some people cannot stand to be alone and find themselves before trying to solve their problems or fix their own inadequacies via a spouse.

Some people actually do marry because they are truly in love. Some do it because they think they are in love and some do it because they are in love with the ';idea'; of marriage. Personally, I believe those that marry over and over again are the people who just can't seem to stand being alone or do it for the money. Good luck with your paper.
Some people get married because they're in love and they want to commit to each other. Those people generally only get married once.





Some people get married because they're in love, and they think they should be married if they're in love, even if they aren't committed to each other. That's why they subsequently get divorced, then remarried, again and again.
People need the security that there is always going to be somebody there for them, A lot of people are afraid to be alone.
