How to get a ';no record of marriage'; certificate in India?

To apply for a fiance visa to Australia (from Hong Kong Australia embassy), I have to supply a document saying there are no records of my marriage in India. They do NOT want a declaration from me saying so, but a government document saying there are no records. Which government department do I get such a document from and how?How to get a ';no record of marriage'; certificate in India?
Go to the Indian Embassy in Hong Kong %26amp; ask them to issue you a No Objection Certificate/Letter Stating that you are unmarried as per their records %26amp; record concerning you which is your Passport etc. No Government Department exists in India which will give such certificate you seek for your Fianc茅 Visa for Australia. The Registrar of Marriages where ever you usually resides in India only issues a Marriage Certificate if you get your marriage registered there otherwise they too may or may not give a No objection Certificate/letter stated that there exist no record regarding any of your marriage registered with them only, if such NOC/Letter is issued by the Registrar of Marriages of your place of residence, how far that will be of any help, I can't say. Try out these as I state here %26amp; see if they are of any help. Otherwise the only other way is for you to proceed with a judicial suit of declaration regarding your unmarried status for which a long process will be required, by the time you get a court order you will be already married %26amp; even father of child. How to get a ';no record of marriage'; certificate in India?
If, your name appears in the electoral roll of your area, in India, then, you can find the same, from the voter I.D card. You can also get the information of your marital status from the Land Pass Book, issued by the Tehsildar( revenue authority) of the area in India.
there is no such certificate in india. however, the dm /collector of your district can certify that ';there are no records of your marriage in his jurisdiction, where you normally reside';.
