Why do people try to compare gay marriage to bestiality?

I know I'm not the only one who is sick of hearing this... but honestly - how can people say ';if we let gays marry, we'll have to let people marry their dogs';. Do they not realize how ridiculous they sound?! Regardless of how hurtful it is, it just makes no sense!! Those two things aren't related!Why do people try to compare gay marriage to bestiality?
the same reason people could compare gay marriage to a heterosexual one, no matter what you compare it to, whether it be a heterosexual marriage or bestiality it will have both similarities and difference. Through careful analysis and research, I have discovered the *real* origins of this frequently heard comparison. And here it is.





The verse in the Bible that Christians often misinterpret to mean that God disapproves of homosexuality is Leviticus 18:22. (KJV: ';Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.';) The very next verse, Leviticus 18:23, forbids beastiality. (KJV: ';Neither shalt thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith: neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto: it is confusion.';)





Christians are just assuming that the Big Gay Conspiracy is systematically and in an orderly fashion trying to break the Levitical Law.





Leviticus 11:10 refers to says that *eating fish* is also an abomination, by the way. The exact same word as how it refers to homosexuality. So God hates people who eat fish every bit as much as he hates fags. :)



Yes, that and the ';OMG! IF U get 2 marry than the PEDOPHILES will want too!!!'; argument are probably my least favorite.





I hope they realize that, unlike two consenting adults, children and animals cannot legally enter into marriage, or any other, contract.





They like to stir up the hate and fear, even if they have to relate us to bestiality and child abuse to do it.





I hope someday we can all look back on this and say... MAN they were screwed up.

Because they have absolutely no GOOD arguments -- nothing rational -- against it, so they rely on emotional appeals.





Yes, it's a moronic argument that keeps cropping up. So here's a response that maybe even those people MIGHT understand --





Picture it, America in 1860 -- ';But if we free our slaves what's next? Will we have to free our farm animals too?';





Picture it, America in 1900 -- ';But if we give women the right to vote, where do we draw the line? Will we give children the right to vote? Will we give goats the right to vote?';





Then if they need more thoughts on ';where to draw the line?'; tell them to consider that every mental health organization has come to the conclusion that homosexuality is not a disorder or illness. That's where you draw the line.
I believe people try to make this comparison because they are ignorant, blinkered, scared and cannot form a coherent or logical argument against gay marriage. This lack of a logical argument could be because it makes complete sense to allow gay people to marry.
Because both bestiality and homosexuality are deviant lifestyles.





Although, Gays desperately would like to believe that they're the norm... nothing could be farther from the truth. Gays as a whole have mistaken tolerance for acceptance.
I really don't know. I think some of them probably have repressed feelings of bestiality. You'd have to have something wrong with you to think marrying a human is the same as marrying an animal.
I know. Some people are idiots. They think they're making a valid point and their proud but they can't see that it makes no sense and the world is laughing at their stupidity.
Because they're ignorant, and apparently have nothing better to do with their time!
