Maybe God wasn't there in the union in the first place. If the couple isn't honoring the covenant of marriage then any number of things can cause the marriage to end. But if God is the center of the union, I believe that nothing and no one can destroy the marriage, because he won't allow it to happen.
Nothing should, however, that does not mean that nothing will. It is a commitment that we make as a couple to be faithful to each other. My husband and I have gone through a lot together, that could have broken us up, however, we believe that marriage is a covenant , and not a contract, it makes a huge difference. A contract can be broken, a true covenant cannot.
